How it's different
Works everywhere
If it has a browser, it works. iPhone to Windows. Android to Mac. Tablet to desktop. No restrictions.
Nothing to install
No app store. No download. Open your browser, scan the code, transfer. That's it.
Direct to your device
Files land on your device, not in someone else's cloud. You own the file the moment it arrives.
Gone in 24 hours
Every file auto-deletes after 24 hours. No lingering data. No storage to manage. No trace.
Questions, answered
Is Zippit free to use?
Yes. Sign in free with Google, GitHub, or Apple on your computer — the phone side needs no account at all. Transfers are free.
Do I need to install an app?
No. Zippit runs entirely in the browser on both devices. The computer opens zippit.io; the phone just scans the QR code.
Do both devices need to be on the same Wi-Fi?
No. Devices pair over the web, so a phone on mobile data and a laptop on office ethernet connect just fine — any network, any distance.
What can I send?
Files in 100+ formats — photos, videos, audio, documents, spreadsheets, archives, code, 3D models — plus links and text notes.
How long do transferred files stay available?
Every transfer auto-deletes after 24 hours. Zippit is a conveyor belt between your devices, not another cloud drive to manage.
Is it safe?
Sessions are established with single-use QR codes that expire after a few minutes of inactivity, transfers travel over HTTPS, and files are automatically deleted after 24 hours.
Which devices does Zippit work on?
Anything with a modern browser: iPhone, Android, Windows, macOS, Linux, ChromeOS, and tablets — in any combination.
How is Zippit different from AirDrop?
AirDrop only works between nearby Apple devices. Zippit works across platforms (iPhone to Windows, Android to Mac) and across networks — no proximity or shared ecosystem required.
